blogolobAs someone who has recently become self-employed, I thought that I’d apply to the Tax Credits people to see whether I am entitled to any top-up to my earnings. I telephoned the department and asked for an Application Pack. Two weeks later and I had still received nothing so I gave them another ring. “Well Sir”, I was told, “It usually takes 3-4 weeks for the forms to arrive”. “You do realise” I said “that the Royal Mail usually manages a next day delivery, with first class post?” “Ah” she said “We use second class”.
